What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a site asks your browser to store. The browser sends it back on every visit, which is how the Site recognises your sign-in, your language and your currency. Local storage works in a similar way, but its data stays in the browser and is never sent automatically.

We use first-party cookies only, set by gears.games itself. There are no advertising, analytics or social-network cookies on the Site.

Cart in local storage

The cart is kept in your browser under the key gs_cart_v1 and is not sent to the server while you browse. It reaches us only when you submit the order on the checkout page, so that we can calculate the total and reserve the item.

This storage does not identify you and is not used for advertising. If you clear it, the cart becomes empty, while orders you already placed stay in your account.

Third parties

Links to Telegram, Microsoft Store pages and payment services lead outside the Site. Those services see your request under their own cookie and privacy policies, which we do not control.

Our hosting provider may keep technical access logs (IP address, request time, user agent) to protect the servers; they are described in the Privacy Policy.

How to control cookies

Cookies are managed in your browser settings: you can delete the existing ones, block third-party cookies or block all cookies for this site.

Delete cookies for gears.games: you are signed out, and the language and currency return to their defaults.
Block all cookies: signing in, handing over the cart and delivering orders stop working.
Clear local storage: the cart empties, the order history stays in your account.
We honour the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out of sale and sharing, although we do not sell personal data at all.

There is no cookie banner on the Site because no advertising or analytics cookies are used: only the cookies without which the store cannot work are set.

Changes to this policy

If we add or remove a cookie, we update this page and its last-updated date. Material changes are announced in the site header.
