About the game

Hell is Other Demons is an acclaimed fast-paced action-platform shooter, with Roguelite elements.

“A Bullet Hell Set In Hell That's Heaven To Play” - Kotaku

“Hell Is Other Demons goes the distance in its refined and frantic gameplay that captures the nostalgia of 8-bit arcade shooters.”

8/10 – Cultured Vultures

“While some games use aesthetic to hide poorly considered gameplay, Hell is Other Demons has nothing to hide. It’s a simple concept, but it’s executed flawlessly.”

4.5/5 – Game Revolution

Explore a sprawling, hand-crafted world full of demons, insanely over-the-top boss fights, and a heavy synthwave soundtrack.

You grew up with the bullet hell arcade shooters which rewarded fast-decision making and creativity? Hell is Other Demons is crafted with expertly executed mechanics and bold, unforgettable style.

Features:

- Retro Bullet Hell Shooter - Fast-paced fair, but challenging, combat rewards practice and creativity.

- A Campaign Through Hell - Explore an extensive world full with thousands of demons and wonderfully over-the-top bosses.

- Arcade Mode - Fans of classic, high-score based arcade games will find a cozy home in this mode, with unlimited, procedurally generated action, and infinite replayability.

- Unforgettable Style - Hell is Other Demons’ bold art style is backed up by a heavy synthwave soundtrack composed by Rémi Gallego, of The Algorithm, and retro sound effects by Magnus Pålsson, composer of the VVVVVV OST.

How to activate

Guide for Xbox One

Primary — the game is shared with your own profile

1Press the Xbox button, open "Profile & system" → "Add or switch" → "Add new" and sign in with the login and password from your order.
2Now open "Settings" → "General" → "Personalization" → "My home Xbox" and choose "Make this my home Xbox". This is what shares our games with every profile on your console.
3Switch back to your own profile, open "My games & apps" → "Library" and install the game. The internet is only needed for the download.
4Launch the game from your own profile: achievements, saves and progress stay yours, and after the installation the game works offline.

Only one console at a time can be the home Xbox for our account — that is the slot you bought. Please do not change the password, the email or the two-factor settings of the account, or the access will be blocked.

Secondary — you play from our account

1Press the Xbox button, open "Profile & system" → "Add or switch" → "Add new" and sign in with the login and password from your order.
2Open "My games & apps" → "Library", switch to our profile in the top-left corner and install the game.
3Launch the game while our profile stays signed in, and keep the console online: the licence is checked over the internet.
4Use your own profile for everything else — the game stays available as long as our account is signed in on this console.

Secondary costs less, but it needs a permanent internet connection and our account stays signed in on your console.

Activation code

1On the console open "Store" and go to the "Redeem code" section.
2Enter the 25-character code from your order and confirm the activation on your own account.
3After the activation the code is shown as "Used" — but you can reinstall the game from your library at any time.

Notes for Xbox One

Important

Do not change the password or the email of our account, do not disable two-factor authentication and do not activate Primary on several consoles at once — that blocks the access. Details are in the "Warranty" section.

How to play online

Online modes work if you have an active Xbox Game Pass Core or Ultimate subscription on your own profile. Our account does not replace a subscription.
